What is link building?

Link building is the process of getting one-way hyperlinks (also called backlinks) to a website to improve its visibility on search engines. In simple terms, it consists of placing a link on a website that, when clicked, takes the user to our website. Anchor is content enclosed in tags in HTML code. It can be a keyword, a keyword phrase, navigation text (for example, "Check", "Click here"), a URL, or an image. In the latter case, the alt attribute is treated as the link text.

Contrary to the looks, getting links is not an easy task. It takes time and a lot of work to find a portal that will convey the value of your domain through a link. Of course, nothing prevents you from massively receiving links from sites of dubious quality. However, if we are interested in effective link building, we must focus on ethical practices.

Why is link building so important?

Many people wonder if it makes sense to acquire links from websites and if it is not a waste of time, because what to do about it? By placing links on websites, we can increase the authority of our domain and indirectly improve the website's position in regular Google search results for positioned keywords. This, in turn, leads to increased website value and more traffic through organic results. High ratings, combined with a value proposition and a user-friendly website, increase the likelihood that the visitor will become our client.

The link value is determined based on the parameters appropriate for each search engine. One of these is PageRank, which is calculated from the original page, which checks if it belongs to the pages with the highest authority (industry pages, specialist pages, big news pages, etc.)

Currently, various tools use their own coefficients to determine the strength of domains and links leading from such sites.
